Studio Owner: Ms. Rebekah Klyukin

Rebekah Klyukin (formerly Rebekah Ives) was born in Ohio, but has lived in the Hampton Roads Area since she was one. She could always be found dancing around the house with a hairbrush (her microphone) in hand anytime there was music on. Since she attended a private school that did not have school dances, with the exception of square dancing...she never really was able to experience social dancing until college. While in college she fell in love with swing dancing and formed the Swing Dance Club at her university in Pennsylvania, which often had over 100 people attend the classes and parties. After graduating from college she moved back to Norfolk and began learning how to ballroom dance after her parents "dragged" her to a social ballroom event. From the first dance she went to she was hooked. A year after she began taking lessons, she met a young man from Russia who had been ballroom dancing since he was a child. She had never seen anyone dance with such precision and power before. After this young Russian returned home, she knew that she needed additional dance training that was not available in the area so she started traveling up to Washington D.C. and Baltimore to receive training from top professionals, the two-time U.S. National 10-dance U.S. champions and four time North American 10-dance champions. Eventually this young Russian man returned to America and Rebekah was able to dance with him again. After dancing for many years at "A Time to Dance," Rebekah took over ownership of the studio she strives to encourage others to start or carry on with their dance journey.
